The evening begins with the solemn flag-raising ceremony, followed by a presidential address to the nation. Cultural performances from all six ethnic groups fill the programme, building to the climactic moment — midnight fireworks over Georgetown to welcome Guyana's Diamond Jubilee.
This is one of the most patriotic nights on the Guyanese calendar, and 2026's 60th anniversary promises to be the grandest yet.
