A full day celebrating Guyanese culture in Toronto with music, food, dance, and community. Part of the annual Guyana Festival series that has united the Toronto diaspora since 1995.
The Guyana Independence Festival & Cultural Day is a vibrant outdoor celebration bringing the best of Guyanese culture to Toronto.
Expect live soca, chutney, reggae and calypso performances, a food village serving pepperpot, cook-up rice, roti, and metemgee, cultural displays showcasing the diversity of Guyana's six peoples, and activities for the whole family.
This annual tradition has been running since 1995 and is one of the most anticipated events on the Toronto Guyanese calendar.
