“309 Test wickets — Guyana's spin king”
Born in Georgetown in 1934, Lance Gibbs was one of the most successful spin bowlers in Test cricket history, taking 309 wickets — the first spinner and only the second player ever to pass the 300 mark. His best figures of 8/38 against India remain legendary. Inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2009.
