Mighty Rebel, born Geoffrey Phillips, was one of Guyana's most beloved calypsonians, known for bold and unapologetic political commentary. He won the calypso monarchy three times in 1997, 2001, and 2007, and claimed the 1999 Soca Monarch Crown. He passed away in 2018 at age 72, leaving behind a legacy of fearless social critique through music.
