“Father of Caribbean literary publishing”
A.J. Seymour (1914–1989) founded Kyk-Over-Al in 1945 — the landmark Caribbean literary magazine that over 16 years published the earliest works of Wilson Harris, Martin Carter, and Edgar Mittelholzer. He edited 28 issues and the Kyk-Over-Al Anthology of West Indian Poetry, nurturing an entire generation of Caribbean writers.
