Born in Plaisance, Guyana in 1948, Eddy Grant is one of the Caribbean's most internationally recognised musicians. He first found fame as guitarist and songwriter for The Equals before launching a solo career that produced global hits spanning reggae, pop, and soca. He invented the ringbang genre and owns Ice Records, his independent label based in Barbados.
